Looking for a way to serve at our church in 2019? There are so many ministries that would love your help! Take a look through the list below and see what areas God might be calling you to serve in.
Welcoming- Good with people? At each of our services, we have a team of welcomers. These people perform a number of roles each week, including handing out name tags and bulletins, welcoming newcomers, and collecting the offertory. If you’d like to join one of the welcoming teams, contact our administrator, Sue Goswell (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Coffee Cart- We’ve recently purchased a new coffee cart to caffeinate our congregation on Sundays and during events. Whether you have a barista’s certificate, or just enjoy the smell of a fresh brew, get in contact with our Assistant Minister Chris Cipollone (email@example.com) to join the team and learn how to whip up a mean cup of joe.
Bible Reading- Do you enjoy reading? Each week at our 10am and 6pm services, we need two people to read a passage of the bible up the front as we prepare to hear the sermon. Contact our administrator, Sue Goswell (firstname.lastname@example.org), to join the team.
Prayers- Do you enjoy praying? Each week at our 10am and 6pm services, we need two people to prepare and read prayer up the front during the service. Contact our administrator, Sue Goswell (email@example.com), to join the team.
Kids Ministry- At our 10am service, we provide a range of groups for children of different ages to hear the word of God in a language that they can understand. If you enjoy playing games, singing songs and doing craft with toddlers to primary aged kids, we’d love to have you join our of our teams. Contact our Assistant Minister for Kids, Libby Colla (firstname.lastname@example.org) to find out more.
Sermon Uploading- Each week, we take a recording of the sermon and upload to our podcast for those who couldn’t make it to the service. We’re looking for a couple of people who attend Sunday@6 and have access to some basic audio editing software to form a team to deliver this service. If this sounds like you, contact our Communications Administrator, Claire Boucher (email@example.com).
Slides Team- Every Sunday at our 10am and 6pm congregations, a small but dedicated team of church members make sure that we’re singing the right songs and praying the right prayers. If you’re a little bit techy, and would like to know more, contact our Senior Minister Antony Baraclough (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Minis@Matts- On Tuesdays and Wednesdays each week, parents and caregivers gather at church with their bubs to relax and socialise. The playgroup is a fantastic outreach and way to serve our local community. To give them a chance to chat, we take care of of the little tikes. If you love little kids, this is the ministry for you! Contact our Assistant Minister for Women, Natalie Ray (email@example.com) to get involved.
Scripture- Each Wednesday morning, a team heads to Gordon West Public School and West Pymble Public school to teach kids about Jesus. For some kids, Scripture is the only time and place they hear truthful teaching about our great God. It’s also a fantastic way to connect non-Christian kids and their families into our church. Scripture is always looking for new teachers and classroom assistants. Contact our Assistant Minister for Kids, Libby Colla (firstname.lastname@example.org), for more info.
ESL- On Friday mornings we reach out to our local non-English speaking community by offering Easy English classes. ESL has boomed in the past two years and they’re in need of volunteers to assist with running the creche, or assistant teach the students. Contact our Community Chaplain Alison Thursby (email@example.com) to find out more and get involved.
SMASH- On Friday afternoons during school terms, we run an after-school kids club for primary-age children from the local schools. SMASH is another fantastic outreach to our local community. If you have energy and enthusiasm, join the team to play games, do craft and teach kids about our awesome God! Contact our Kids Ministry Worker Joshua Peterson (firstname.lastname@example.org) to find out more.
